I’m going to end this series of posts with the idea of it all. Why is all of this stuff important?
The message of the Book of Mormon is come unto Christ. It’s through Him that we can be perfected and comforted. He is our friend, our older brother, and our Father. He atoned for our sins so that we could have free agency on this Earth and still be able to return to our Heavenly Father. His love is infinite and so is His atonement. We need to go to Him, bring our sorrows and trials to His feet. When we turn our hearts to Him, He will lift us up and help us to endure to the end. We don’t need to be our own saviors, we already have one in Christ. He is waiting with arms wide open to lift us in His embrace.
No matter what you do, what sins you’ve committed or judgements you’ve made you are always worthy to come to Christ. Satan wants us to think that because we sin we are not worthy of Christ’s love. This is not true. We’re always worthy and Christ wants us to come to Him as we are. He’ll take what we are and help us become what we are meant to be.
“Yea, come unto Christ, and be perfected in him, and deny yourselves of all ungodliness; and if ye shall deny yourselves of all ungodliness, and love God with all your might, mind and strength, then is his grace sufficient for you, that by his grace ye may be perfect in Christ; and if by the grace of God ye are perfect in Christ, ye can in nowise deny the power of God.
And again, if ye by the grace of God are perfect in Christ, and deny not his power, then are ye sanctified in Christ by the grace of God, through the shedding of the blood of Christ, which is in the covenant of the Father unto the remission of your sins, that ye become holy, without spot.” Moroni 10:32-33 (Book of Mormon)
I have a testimony of Christ and all that He’s done for us. He atoned for our sins not only so we could return to our Father in heaven, but also so that we wouldn’t be alone in this life through all of our trials and sorrows. Words cannot begin to describe the love I have for my Savior. I also wanted to share my testimony of the Book of Mormon. This book is true, I believe it with all of my heart. Joseph Smith translated this book so that we may have another testament of Christ. I’m so grateful for this gospel and all it does for me.
Going to heaven is Christ’s work, our work here on this earth is to go to Christ. The Book of Mormon will bring us closer to Christ who will bring us to the Father in heaven.
